CURRICULUM EXPECTATIONS

WHAT IS INFORMATIONAL WRITING?
PROVIDES FACTUAL INFORMATION ABOUT A SUBJECT
1) INTRODUCTION OF TOPIC: Describe to the reader what they will learn by reading on!
2) IMPORTANT FACTS: Facts about the subject set out in paragraphs! You may use SUBTITLES between each paragraph, guiding the reader through your report
3) CONCLUSION/SUMMARY: Sum up what you have covered. Perhaps close off with some fascinating facts not yet mentioned!

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I have 3 sections? (#1 Introduction  , #2 Important Facts , #3 Conclusion )

I used great description in the introduction to paint a picture of what was going to be learned.

I have a separate paragraph for each new fact discussed.

I used subtitles between each paragraph to help guide the reader through my report.

I researched my topic well and have really specific information and scientific/technical language.

I have a conclusion that sums up what was covered and includes a fascinating fact or idea not yet mentioned.

I edited my work using all of the steps of "Our Proofreading Plan".
