BUOYANCY/UPTHRUST: is a force on an object making that object rise or move upward. When something is less dense than the liquid it is in, it will float.

ABSORPTION: When water gets on something it can do one of two things. The water could be repelled. This means that the water runs off of the material. The water could also be absorbed. This means that the water is soaked up by the material. Some materials absorb water better than others. Sometimes when water is absorbed the material holds onto the water really well. Other materials will absorb the water, but let it drain out.

MATTER is anything that takes up space and has weight. All things on Earth are made up of matter!
The three main forms of matter are called solid, liquids and gases.
A SOLID keeps it shape
A LIQUID takes the shape of its container
A GAS fills its container.

WHAT MAKES GOLD SO VALUABLE?
Rare...deposited by meteorites and formed over millions of years
Rare but not to the point where it is nearly impossible to share and to use
Shiny/pretty
It doesn't explode or vanish or corrode
Fairly easy to carry
Fairly easy to shape
Fantastic conductor of electricity
