CURRICULUM EXPECTATIONS
WHAT IS SCRIPT WRITING?
A TEXT FORM THAT CAN BE USED TO PRODUCE PLAYS, MOVIES, TELEVISION SHOWS, RADIO ADVERTISEMENTS, ETC.
1) TITLE: Come up with an exciting title that will hook a reader into reading more!
2) CHARACTERS/DRAMATIS PERSONAE: Introduce the characters in alphabetical order. Describe briefly to the reader how they fit into the play and what motivates them!
3) SET THE SCENE: Briefly introduce the setting and the characters who will appear in the scene. Scripts are often divided into sections called ACTS (Ie. Act 1 = The Beginning)
4) DIALOGUE/SCENE DIRECTIONS/ETC.: Write the character who is speaking in the margin followed by a colon. Include stage directions, gestures, reading intonations, sound effects in brackets/parenthesis
